Films to Watch Now - August Recommendations

Editors Note: Here's a guest post from the Everett Film Festival crew with a couple movie recommendations for ya!

The Everett Film Festival just made a couple of new distributor contacts and have several films to preview. So if you are interested in participating in the selection process for the 2017 Festival go to the Everett Film Festival's website and click on volunteers to give us your contact information.

Films to Watch Now From Home
A really inspiring film is “The Shining Star of Losers Everywhere.” This is about a racehorse named Haru Urara that never won a race, but saved a racetrack in Japan. This horse also inspired an entire nation during a time of economic decline. It is 18 minutes of pure inspiration.

Between: Living in the Hyphen is a 43 minute film about 7 Canadians of mixed heritage. In the interviews each talks about the challenges they have encountered in their daily lives. This film is a window on the future of North Americans as we become more entwined culturally and racially. You can view it here.

Short Film Competition
We're still looking for amateur film makers to submit a 3 to 5 minute film for our competition. Film makers of all ages are encouraged to participate. For more information about submissions, go to our website.
