5 Budget-Friendly Outings in Everett

This story is brought to you by Live in Everett Member ESC Mattress Center.

Whether covid has put a damper on your budget or you simply value frugality, Everett has a slough of budget-friendly activities. Here are just five of my favorites:

Check out the latest exhibit at the Schack Art Center

The Schack Art Center is a beautiful art gallery with new exhibits on the regular. And did you know it’s totally free? You would never guess admission was zilch in this high-quality curated space. Watch glass blowing in-between perusing pieces and don’t forget to view the art upstairs, down the halls, and even around the outside of the building. This place is bursting with creativity. Get details on Schack’s latest exhibit here.

For more art, stroll the Everett Artwalk in downtown on the third Thursday evening of the month. Local businesses will host art galleries for your viewing pleasure.

Enjoy some Nature

Looking for a little exercise after admiring all that art? Everett is home to over 40 parks with some great nature walks. A few personal favorites include:

Narbeck is a great place for a nature walk, even for toddlers // Linda War Bonnet

Put your spare change to use at the Everett Mall

Did you know Everett Mall has an arcade? That spare jar of pocket change has never been so useful. Bowl, race cars or motorcycles, or just splurge on some candy from the vending machines. I took my toddler to the mall on a rainy day last year, and now it's one of her favorite things. Even on sunny days … for better or worse. 😅

Got spare change? Head to the mall // Garret Hunt

Get Pumped for a Bike Picnic

When’s the last time you hopped on the two-wheeler and biked down to Pigeon Creek beach or along the Everett waterfront? Pack up some PB&J’s and let the wind blow through your hair like you just don’t care. Because seaside sandwiches ain't a bad way to play.

A whimsical, giant and colorful sculpture called Cal Hoyt Pencils is located on the SW corner of California and Hoyt // Garret Hunt

Tour History + Public Art Downtown

Everett is home to over three dozen pieces of public art, most of which are located right Downtown. Lots of great street art and murals have also been added in recent years. You can check out the sculpture map here. If history is more your thing, then you should definitely check out these great walking tours that can guide you along the way as you explore Downtown Everett.
