The Great Search For Everett’s Best Vegan Cheese Pizza
If you love pizza as much as I do, then you also love the idea of being able to still find a way to enjoy pizza when your partner is lactose intolerant. Insert the great search for Everett’s best vegan cheese pizza.
I actually used to eat pizza specifically on the days when I knew my wife would be working. Then I could avoid the whole cheesy mess of trying to share pizza with someone who can’t eat cheese. The only thing better than eating pizza on your own, though, is sharing it with loved ones. Which is what led me to vegan cheese pizza place #1:
Major League Pizza
While perusing Major League’s menu one day, I realized they have a soy cheese option.
BINGO!
Perhaps even more revolutionary, if you ask really nicely, they’ll even split a pie 50-50 and do soy cheese only on half. You’ll need to be okay with the potential for a slight boundary encroachment, but the risk is worth the reward.
Pro-tip: Major League Pizza’s almost always come with coupons taped to the box, so you’ll be able to sink your teeth into some tasty savings on nearly all of your subsequent orders.
Pro-tip #2: If you ask for it, they’ll give you packets of red pepper flakes. That way, if someone isn’t as excited about the soy cheese they can “spice” things up.
Major League had been our go-to for a while. We love the freshness and beer-battered crust. But then we wondered, “who else has vegan cheese pizza in Everett?”
Amante Pizza & Pasta
Turns out Amante has a vegan cheese option.
We ordered one night using what appeared to be Amante’s preferred ordering platform, an app called “Slice.”
Pro tip: you can save $3 off your order when you download the Slice app for the first time.
Quirky thing- the app allowed me to order half vegan cheese. After receiving our pizza, though, it turns out the folks making the pizza at Amante do not agree with the app. Our pizza arrived with vegan cheese on the entire pie, and an awkward phone call confirmed they cannot half the cheese. Good to know.
I’ve actually developed a lactose sensitivity myself, so hey, that’s probably better anyways! We went for the House Special which comes with sunflower seeds. I don’t know if I’ve ever had a pizza with sunflower seeds, but it was quite tasty. My wife loved it. We’ve gotten it multiple times now.
But we still wondered, who else has vegan cheese pizza in Everett?
Eight Ball Cafe
Eight Ball Cafe does! They only do smaller 10” pies. So no fuss over trying to do vegan cheese only on half, we just each got our own 10’’ pie!
Eight Ball Cafe’s pizza is more of a thin, well-done crust. Stone pizza oven style. Which is quite delicious!
Pro tip: they also have a gluten-free crust option.
Ironically, my wife got the vegan cheese but ordered a Hawaiian which has meat, and I got regular cheese but ordered veggie toppings with no meat. Understandably, the person taking our order triple checked he had it right. He did. And it was delicious!
I don’t really have a favorite between the three above options. They each have their own unique value, but they all offer a slice of heaven in their own special way.
Mod Pizza also has vegan cheese. Mod is actually really good (IMHO), so you might want to give it a try too.
