Weekly Goodness 9/5 - 9/11

Happy Labor Day everyone. A quick shout-out to this week's title sponsor, McClain Insurance. Claudia McClain and her team have been helping the good people of Everett since 1977 and we bet they've never stopped smiling while doing so. McClain Insurance is a brokerage, which means they work with a bunch of insurance companies so they can shop rates and policies for you to make sure you're getting the right coverage and a fair deal. Also, they're local so they understand the types of coverage that make sense for us here in and around Everett. We're talking with 'em about earthquake insurance so if this big one really hits, we'll be covered. Take a few minutes and have them look over your insurance to see if they can help. It's worth it. EAT + DRINK

We have not been able to stop thinking about Nosh's epic fish & chips from the Food Truck Festival. If you missed it, picture a cod fillet the size of your forearm, battered and fried to golden perfection served with a side of hand-cut fries. They're unbelievable. Truly.

You don't have to wait for next year's Food Truck Festival, or drive to Seattle to find Nosh to score award-winning fish and chips though. Rays Drive In on Broadway won the EVVY Award in June for Everett's best fish and chips and their fish certainly rivals Nosh's. It's a similar style, battered, not breaded and fried just the perfect amount so it's crispy when you bite in, but super tender and soft on the inside. Ray's fries are on point, too. Hand-cut everyday in house and fried just right, served with house-made tartar. Fried. Golden. Goodness.
