Everett Thanksgiving Helpers: Pie, Booze, Gifts, and More

Whether you're attending a Thanksgiving feast as a guest or hosting the grand shebang, we could all use a little help with preparations for the big day. Here are some local helpers ready to take a load off your shoulders, and make you feel extra thankful for living in such a great city.

Note: We called most of these businesses to confirm prices and when to put in orders, but better be safe and call yourself.

WHERE TO BUY THE PIE

The Sisters

Call ahead and make an order, they will likely make any pie on their menu. Their pumpkin pie goes for $15 and their Dutch apple pie goes for $20. Ask for a tub of their whipping cream, it will not disappoint.

The New Mexicans

All their pies are $25+tax (roughly $27). They've got a large variety, including the classic pumpkin. Crowd favorites: Banana Cream or Reese's Chocolate Cream.

Karl's Bakery

In addition to not having to make pie, why don't you have Karl's Bakery make your rolls too! You can get dozen rolls for $6, and a classic pumpkin or fruit pie of your choice for $20. Call now for a Wednesday pick-up time, their slots are filling fast!

Costco

It's cheap ($6), it's huge, and you need to pick up extra toilet paper anyways. Am I right?

WHERE TO PERUSE THE BOOZE

For the Wine:

Sno-Isle Food Co-op

From local wines to exotic beverages you've never heard of, the co-op has a great selection to peruse. Maybe try one of Aesir Meadery's meads (16% alcohol, if that doesn't spell family memories I don't know what will). Feeling unconventional? Try their cranberry wine and cider, only $13 a bottle.

Trader Joe's Everett

TJ's has a great selection of wine to choose from, as well as tasty side snacks for dinner guests whose tummies be grumblin' before the bird. Get a cheap wine for $5 or grab something fancy for $15. Either way, you'll leave with all the last minute things you didn't know you needed.

For the Beer:

Scuttlebutt Tap Room

Buy your Growler here or bring your own (if you want to hurt their feelings you thoughtless thug) and they'll fill 'er up with some fine brews ranging from $14-$18. If you want to get super fancy, fill up on their specialty Scotch for $20.

Crucible Brewing

Growler bottle itself is $8 for a 64 oz, and the beer to fill it up ranges between $15 -$19.

There are lots of different breweries in town to fill up at. Don't forget to check out Lazy Boy, Middleton, and At Large. Or for a wider variety, maybe try filling up at the Independent Beer Bar or Toggles Bottle Shop.

WHERE TO BLESS THE HOSTESS (with a gift)

J. Matheson Gift

J. Matheson has everything food related, which makes it a great spot to find a hostess gift. Maybe get them a nice set of notecards with a cute dog cartoon on the front. Or a special candle that they would never buy themselves.

Studio Donna

Thanksgiving prep is stresfful on the mind and hands, so why not pamper one of the two with something fancy from Aveda. They have a variety of travel hand lotions to sooth cracked hands from $9-$15. Or if they're more of a tea type, try their loose leaf tea or tea bags for $20. Seriously, the best tea you'll ever try.

Narrative Coffee

Why not grab one of those specialty chocolate bars you see every time you wait in line at Narrative? For $11, that's a pretty easy gift that can be savored over a nice thank you note. Just make sure their little ones don't get ahold of it; that chocolate should only be consumed by the chef 😉.
