Game On NW: Fun for Everyone in Everett

This story is brought to you by Live in Everett Member Lamoureux Real Estate.

You may have noticed something new on Everett Mall Way, just across the street from the mall and next to the Jack in the Box. This is Game On NW - a new fun center in South Everett.

I was lucky enough to stop in a week ago with two of my friends. We were greeted by Amber, and Kristian walked us through some of the tabletop games and activities (as well as hosted laser tag for us later). We decided to start with axe throwing, and Kenneth walked us through safety protocols as well as gave us some basic tips.

Game On NW has both traditional and digital lanes (both are a good time - the digital takes some time to set up but you can play a number of games on it in addition to target throwing) and whether this is your first or tenth time throwing axes, you’ll be able to have fun in the lanes.

After spending some time axe throwing and (mostly) hitting the target, we decided to try our hand at some of the games. We ended up getting into a kind of digital competitive whack-a-mole game where we played against each other to see who could hit the most lights for the color we chose.

There were a number of other games available too, like bowling (or pig pin, as they call it), cornhole, hockey sauce, and stick pin in their sports lane. Game On NW also has Sling Putt, a game similar to golf, or Carpet Ball, a game where you have to knock your opponent's balls in the gutter.

Afterward, we selected one of the five Virtual Reality (VR) games available for an 8-minute interval. My friends and I all had varying degrees of experience, but none of us consistently gamed with VR, and one of my friends had never tried it at all. We settled on one of the games that was less likely to cause motion sickness and, to be honest, I’m not 100% sure, but I think we got the robot and won. If I’m wrong, we at least had a good time with minimal dizziness.

Finally, we played a round of laser tag in their arena with Kristian working all the controls. We played three rounds trying to sneak around the dim labyrinth and catch one another unaware, some of us with more success than others. The rule and game review was entertaining and informative, and there were plenty of ammo, health, and shield boxes hidden in the nooks and crannies of the course. We all agreed this was one of the highlights and definitely recommend it to any adult, kid (or kid-like adult) looking for a fun way to spend a half hour.

In addition to the activities my friends and I tried, you can also enjoy affordable drinks (alcoholic and non) and snacks, or bring in food from the outside to enjoy at one of the many tables inside. People can buy package deals for activities and even all-access passes, as well as schedule parties, team-building and school groups, and private events (including special non-profit rates).

In addition to this, Game On NW hosts a number of tournaments every week, discounts during Kraken games, Seahawks games, and theme nights, as well as a weekly Ladies Night and Trivia Night

While many places may make the claim, Game On NW really does have fun for the whole family with activities for people of all ages (though their site does recommend ages 10 and up). I know my friends and I had a great time during our 2-hour all-access block and are planning on going back sometime soon.
