Everett Top 5: Place to Grab a Drink on a Sunny Day
There's no better way to maximize the goodness of a sunny Everett day than with a drink & some friends. Here are the Top 5 places (right now) to grab a drink and bask in the sun. In no particular order, by the way.
1) Sol Food's outdoor patio is transcendent. When you're there on a sunny day it feels like you're on vacation in Everett-Cuba. It's surrounded by tall old brick buildings and filled with beautiful landscaping (the huge palm tree adds to the tropical vibe). There's plenty of room so you can usually get a table on most nights without having to wait long (except for Taco Tuesday). Order a mojito, it's the specialty. Grab a side of plantain chips too.
2) Lombardi's knows what people like and they deliver on it every single time – great food, fair prices, wonderful service and a world-class vibe. Lombardi's has been our go-to happy hour for a long, long time. If it's nice out we're on the patio that overlooks the Everett Marina. We usually get a glass of chianti, some bruschetta and the bacon wrapped dates. During the summer they offer the best seat in the house for Music at the Marina and this year you can reserve tables for a nominal fee.
3) You can never go wrong with Emory's on Silver Lake. Their lakeside deck is sprawling and has ah-mazing lake views – especially at sunset. We go there for Everett Comedy Night and their stellar happy hour. We usually order a pizza and a beer. If pizza and beer isn't your thing, they have a vast menu and a well-stocked bar. Tons to choose from. Emory's always has things going on, too. Check out their event calendar here.
4) At Large Brewing's new Everett location is a slam-dunk. Nestled in one of the Herald's former distribution centers it has a kind of 'industrial speakeasy' vibe. Plenty of room for a big group of people, but could also make a fun date spot. Their large outdoor patio has a view of the Puget Sound and on a summer day you can smell the salty air. It's our new summer hang out. Oh, and the beer is dang good too.
5) Anthony's Homeport has the best view of the Sound, hands down. We actually prefer happy hour at their sister restaurant, Anthony's Woodfire (more to choose from and easier to get a table). If we're talking pure viewing pleasure, though, then the Homeport is the joint. Few things are better than watching the sun set over Port Gardner from the Anthony's patio with a glass of wine and a group of friends.
Happy Sipping,
