Hidden in Plain Sight: South Everett’s Acropolis Pizza & Pasta

A lot is going on near the busy intersection of 128th Street and 4th Avenue West in South Everett. But hiding in plain sight on the NW corner of the intersection, in a nondescript strip mall (next to El Nopal), is Acropolis Pizza & Pasta.

Acropolis recently invited us to sample their menu, and we’re sure glad we did!

We felt instantly transported away from the busy commercial corridor as we entered the authentic Italian and Greek restaurant. The distinguished decor was a pleasant surprise. With a wine rack in the corner, cozily cushioned seating, and plenty of different seating areas and table sizes to choose from.

Our experience at Acropolis was made even more enjoyable by the impeccable service of our server, Elizabeth. She promptly brought a lit candle to our table after presenting us with the extensive food and drink menus and was attentive throughout the meal.

The vibe alone certainly feels worthy of a date night destination.

The menu offers many appetizers, such as baked cauliflower and pesto cheese bread. For the main course, you can choose from hot sandwiches, grinders, soups, salads, Greek Gyros, a variety of pasta, and of course, their signature pizzas.

The drink menu has a handful of beers and wines. We went for the house red, a cabernet sauvignon which paired perfectly with our meal.

To kick things off, we went for the spinach salad (sans bacon) with an Italian vinaigrette dressing that really brought out the fresh red onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, cucumbers, and feta. My dinner mate and I both agreed the salad was our favorite part of the meal. I’d go back just for that.

Though our next courses were certainly no disappointment as we indulged in the oven-baked ooey gooey cheesy goodness of the Cheese Ravioli; smothered in marinara and mozzarella with garlic bread on the side. We also ordered a medium house vegetarian pizza which came with mushrooms, onions, green peppers, black olives, and mozzarella.

We both enjoyed everything. The pizza was perfectly cooked with good flavor, and I especially liked the crust. My dinner mate found the cheese ravioli a pinch too salty, which meant more for me; a responsibility I gladly accepted. There was plenty of food for the two of us in general, and we left with a little leftover of everything for an easy lunch the next day.

Considering Acropolis Pizza & Pasta originally specialized in Greek food, I look forward to trying their gyros someday. The shrimp or smoked salmon pasta also caught my eye, so we may just have to go for another visit sometime.

Regardless of your dietary desires, Acropolis is sure to have something on their menu to leave you delightfully satisfied. So next time you’re ready to be transported for an authentic greek and Italian and experience, don’t miss South Everett’s Acropolis Pizza & Pasta.
