Learn how to construct a basic Celtic knot (an interlaced design) with a technique that can be used to fill a space of any size. Then, deepen your learning with exercises to expand into more complex knots and fill irregular spaces.
The first goal is to learn the basic technique. Then to learn how to apply variation to the technique to produce more complex designs.
The student should come away with a simple Celtic knot design and the knowledge of how to replicate it and expand on it. If time and skill level permit, the student may be able to design a knot in an irregular shaped space. (I can supply images with spaces to be filled.) We will be working on plain paper with pencils and pens. Students should not expect to produce a "finished" piece of art.
