Buy Fresh 🐟🐟🐟 Off a Dock This Weekend
Troller Point Fisheries is one of Everett's best kept secrets.
Twice a year their boat, the Ocean Oasis, motors into the Everett marina. They come from Alaska, selling seafood and fish to customers on the dock.
Their catch is wild, troll-caught, and frozen-at-sea. If you like eating delicious seafood (this is a true pleasure of living in the Northwest), then you'll want to catch them while they're in town.
They'll be here from this Saturday, November 25 through next Thursday, November 30, selling fresh prawns, king salmon, and scallops by the pound among many other options.
Their semiannual arrival isn't really advertised as far as I can tell. You can get on their mailing list by visiting their website. Last year I found out about it on social media.
I bought five pounds of halibut cheeks and ate buttery, rich leek halibut chowder all winter.
This year I caught up with Troller Point on a dock in Anacortes. I bought three pounds of coho salmon steaks. Were they better and tastier than store-bought fish? Undeniably, yes.
So my insider-Everett advice is to catch Troller Point this weekend and get your scallops on.
You won't regret it.
