From gourmet cuisine to mid-century furniture, 2018 brought some note-worthy newness to town. In no particular order, here are ten of our favorite new spots that opened in Everett in 2018:
1. Basil
Basil’s our new South Everett Vietnamese go-to. From authentic food to a clean and inviting ambience, Basil is the whole package. Check out our inside look in Live in Everett TV #89.
2. Bent Yoga
Bent Yoga opened its doors in early 2018 and quickly became a hot (see what we did there?) spot for getting your sweat on. Get stoked you no longer have to leave town to enjoy hot yoga. For our inside look, click here.
3. Midnight Cookie Co.
Who doesn’t love cookies? South Everett’s newest sugar factory even delivers. Go big like Christopher Bragg did and get one of each.
4. High Trek Adventures
We’re not actually sure if it was technically 2018 when High Trek Adventures opened (maybe 2017?), but regardless, 2018 is when we had the pleasure of discovering it. This massive rope and zip line course at Paine Field is like nothing in the region. Catch a first-hand look in episode 82 of Live in Everett TV below.
5. Capers + Olives
Debatably the best new restaurant in Everett of all of 2018. Capers + Olives brings “classy cuisine to Colby.” Fresh seafood, vegetables and handmade pasta. Don’t be surprised if you have to wait for a table.
It’s.
That.
Good.
Catch our inside look on Live in Everett TV.
6. Wetmore Forest
They may be a publicly traded company on track to hit a billion dollars in annual revenue, but Funko hasn’t forgotten their Everett roots. In 2018 Funko added an entirely new section to their headquarters called “Wetmore Forest,” paying homage to the downtown Everett street their headquarters resides on.
7. Erwin's Cheesesteaks
Tyler may have decided he hates cheesesteaks for good, but for the rest of us- “There’s a New Philly in Town.” At Erwin’s, you even get to spin a big wheel when you’re ordering for a chance to win a free side or a discount... who doesn’t love spinning a big wheel?!
8. Jag Artworks
Everett’s newest home for culture, JAG stocks street art supplies and merch from local artists and musicians. Check out Henry J’s write-up here.
9. 9 Delicacies
If one were to debate a finer new eatery in Everett in 2018 than Capers + Olives, 9 Delicacies is its match. This Korean fusion cuisine is no joke; just listen to Tyler rave about it in Live in Everett TV episode 92.
10. Grand Leader Mercantile
This building was resurrected in 2018 after having been the original Grand Leader Mercantile over 100 years ago. The completely re-designed space features high-end mid-century furniture, decor and they even have an interior designer on staff. As Richard Porter put it in his article on the Grand Leader Mercantile, “…it’s pretty swank in there.”
Honorable mentions:
8 Ball Cafe
Comfort Cafe (now closed)
2018 was the first year of Everett Beer week.
Narrative Coffee added a food menu to their lineup.
Grocery Outlet opened its second location in Everett at Claremont Village.
