The Everett Philharmonic concludes our 2022/23 season with some of our audience’s favorite masterpieces. We’ll open with Beethoven’s Leonore Overture, a work he struggled years to perfect, from its inception as the opening for his sole opera to its many revisions as the concert piece we’ve all come to love today for its vivacious melody and rhythm.

Then the orchestra will gift the audience with José Aranda’s Cuatro escenas de sur (Four Scenes from the South). This new solo work will leave you wanting for more of the dulcet tones of the viola.

Joyce Ramée expertly performs this concerto inspired by Chilean folk song depicting pastoral scenes from southern Chile. We’ll conclude with Dvořák’s monumental New World Symphony. Inspired by all that America has to offer, from the bustle of New York City to the tranquility of summer in the rural midwest, the Czech immigrant composed a symphony that gave birth to American classical music. Its soulful melodies and fiery rhythms resonate in concert halls throughout the world, and will resonate in our Everett audience’s memories long after the final chord.
