Everett Real Estate - December 2016 Market Update
Happy December!
At the beginning of each month we like to take a peek at the Everett real estate market and see how things are trending. You know, because we help people buy and sell real estate when we're not running this blog. Anyway, let's take a look at the numbers from last month, November 2016:
Now for comparison's sake, let's take a look at the previous month's numbers. October 2016:
Not surprising, it looks like less homes sold in November than in October. Also, the average number of days on market went from 24 days in October up to 32 days in November. So, things are taking longer to sell, which is normal in the Winter.
What is somewhat shocking is the average sales price went from $316k in October up to $334k in November. Wow. That's an increase of over 5%! Wouldn't have expected that in November.. maybe it's all those new homes they're building down at the Riverfront Development?
Lets take a glance at last year's numbers from November 2015:
Comparing these numbers year over year, it looks like more homes sold this year in less days on market, which has been consistent in recent years as the market has continued to strengthen. The average sales price in November 2015 went from $302k up to $334k in November 2016. An increase of over 10%.
Things seem to be continually improving in Everett. Both in real estate as well as in development and culture. The Seattle Times even just released an article recommending good alternative places for Seattleites looking for greener pastures. Guess who made the list? You guessed it. Everett, WA.
