This Weekend: Pedal Through Scenic Everett History
This weekend you can learn about Everett history while going on a scenic bike ride. It’s free!
The bike ride kicks off the city’s new Mill Town Trail.
Co-sponsored by Historic Everett and The Port of Everett, the event will take participants around the peninsula of North Everett. Local historian Jack O’Donnell will be the tour docent.
Participants will see smelter sites, old mill locations, and beautiful views of Everett's waterfront.

The party starts at 10AM at the Port of Everett’s Blue Heron Room. There’s a ribbon cutting at 11AM to announce the opening of the recreational trail.
The trail opening celebrates the city’s 125th birthday and the Port of Everett’s 100th anniversary.
ABOUT THE TRAIL
Early Everett was called the "City of Smokestacks" and "Pittsburg of the West."
Investors from New York City transformed water-surrounded Everett into an industrial waterfront mill town. Everett’s peninsula was also home to smelters, nail works, and barge factories.
The Mill Town Trail celebrates Everett’s industrial history and places it in a recreational civic context. It’s a great way to celebrate the spirit of the city on its birthday.
