An evening with retired University of Washington Aeronautics and Astronautics professor Dr. Reiner Decher. Dr. Decher will recount the history of the German engineers who built jet engines during the Second World War, including those working on the Junkers 004 engine for the Me 262, and will explore the challenges and opportunities these engineers and their families encountered throughout the war and in the postwar period. Dr. Decher will touch on his own experience as a member of one of these families. If you are interested in World War II history or aeronautical engineering you won’t want to miss this talk!

FHCAM welcomes man's best friend into the museum on September 7th for the opening of our newest exhibit, Animals in Wartime. Dog Days will be packed with exciting things to do and see including mingling with local animal organizations and shopping for your furry friend! Take home your own frisbee with a $3 minumum donation to the museum! Event ends at 2 PM and all dogs must be off premises by 2:30 PM unless a registered service animal. More information coming soon!
