Crafty B’s: South Everett’s Artisan Market
You may have caught mention of Crafty B’s in my Top 10 Reasons to Visit Everett Mall article. It’s worth more than a mention though.
I love to shop and purchase handmade items for gifts and to inspire my own crafting. We’ve got some great spots for shopping in downtown Everett including the soon to open Artisans PNW. Then there’s the seasonal Everett Farmers Market and periodic Everett Makers Market, which are again both in north Everett. So I’m feeling pretty happy having Crafty B’s in the south end and that it’s open year-round.
Located in Everett Mall just off I-5, it’s easy for everyone to get to and parking is a snap. For me, it’s a 5-minute drive. If you park at the main entrance of the mall (I don’t really know how else to get in these days), walk straight back toward Burlington and Crafty B’s will be on your left.
Crafty B’s is an incredible store full of unique handmade merchandise made by local artisans. Each gets their own display area to merchandise. You’ll find a gift for everyone from kids to Seahawks fans to someone who needs a little TLC. Check out Crafty B’s Facebook page where they regularly feature offerings. I’m told that the vendors change pretty often so if you decide to wait on a purchase, make sure to pick up the vendor’s business card by the register.
Plan some time to pick up a baked goodie from Annmarie’s Cakes at the back of the store and sit and relax in the seating area.
I learned about Crafty B’s because I attended a great class by the The Painter, the Potter and The Puppeteer at the BeeHive which is Crafty B’s auxiliary location in the mall. It’s used for classes, vendor pop-ups and you can even pay by the hour to spend time crafting in their space without the usual interruptions you’d get at home.
Keep an eye out for upcoming classes at the BeeHive but they seem to be pausing for the holiday season. In addition to art classes, I’ve seen classes offered for small business owners. Crafty’s Bs is gearing up to host holiday vendor markets in the BeeHive, including a Holiday Vendor Market the November 26 and 27 and a Santa's Workshop Vendor Event each weekend in December. They are hosting their 1st Annual GingerBee Decorating Contest on December 19.
With supply chain shortages threatening to be a Grinch this Christmas and the fact that I’ve had an Etsy purchase that’s been missing in transit for a month, Crafty B’s is a great bet for holiday shopping this year.
