I met with owner Joey Ghioni, who also owns Ballard Consignment as well as The Furniture Guy in Greenwood. Ballard Consignment's been open for 9 years and was the Northwest's largest consignment store until Everett Consignment opened. At 60,000 square feet, it's twice as big as its Ballard counterpart. So what can you expect to find? Lots of interesting items consigned by individuals plus great deals on returns from other furniture stores Ghioni deals directly with.

Much of the new furniture sold today is shipped in boxes and assembled by the customer. if you don't discover that your new piece isn't right for you until after you've assembled it and then return it, the store won't take it apart and repackage it. They cut their losses by selling it assembled via consignment. That's another advantage for buyers: the item you buy comes directly off the floor assembled, with no extra work and no surprises.

Wander the store and you'll find endless inspiration from thoughtfully grouped items. It's like the decorating is already done for you, and you can take it home immediately. Be sure to climb to the top floor, which is reserved for wall art.

I didn't get any photos of the bedroom area because the decorative headboards didn't photograph well without a made bed but trust me, that room's worth a visit. There are some truly beautiful pieces in there. On the other end of that level, you'll find great dining tables and lots of colorful seating options to go with them.

Selling via consignment is convenient because the store takes care of all the details and will keep the item on display indefinitely, then mail you a check for 50% of the sale price once it's sold.
