A Mother’s Day Gift Giving Guide During Extraordinary Times

Yikes, Mother’s Day is coming up on May 10 and most of the stores are closed! You probably still would like to honor one of the most important figures in your life with a token of your love, be it your mother, step-mother, mentor or other superwoman. Since we can’t hit the stores to go shopping, we’ve rounded up some ideas to help make gift-giving easier. Remember if you are having gifts shipped, it typically takes 3 days for local addresses so plan ahead.

If your superwoman is a gardener, order online and do curbside pick up at Ace Hardware. A fresh pair of gardening gloves, new trowel, cultivator and pruners packaged up in a beautiful planter would be a welcome gift for any gardener.

For paper lovers and list makers, Cat Snapp Studio has some fun paper products that are great for gift giving. Consider a handbound journal, I Love You Times Infinity Art Print or Sow Love art print. Some good greeting card options include You Rock! and Cat's Meow.

Bibliophiles will love my favorite book by Live in Everett Author Richard Porter called The Spar Tree. It is a collection of essays, poems and photos of the Northwest. Also available is Smokestackers!, short stories of past Everett residents.

If you have a music lover on your list, some local artists have new albums. Sinister-Rockers Oliver Elf Army’s new album Oliver Elf Army is Sending Thoughts and Prayers is available from Bandcamp. You won’t get Fretland’s new self-titled album in time for Mother’s Day, but preorder this new Americana album, it will be worth the wait.

Foodie moms might appreciate having takeout delivered from their favorite restaurant or check Everett for Everett for some other restaurant options. A box of cookies delivered from Midnight Cookie Co. would likely be appreciated, by most anybody.
